Our Story
-
Welcome to Smith Family Farms. My name is Zack Smith along with my wife, Heather Smith and our son. From the old days of a mule and plow to the modern machinery we use today, I am a 4th generation farmer of the many that farm in my family. I have worked along side my dad, uncles and grandpa my entire life growing cotton, corn, peanuts, produce, hay and cows. While I’m still working with my family, in 2017 I decided it was time to have my own side of the story. I started with buying my first herd of cows and accumulating my own land to grow crops. The one thing that stands out the most in farming is the family stories you hear from the older generations from the early days to now. They worked a lot harder but the food they put into their bodies was clean and natural without near the input of today. Back then, you knew where your food came from and never questioned what toxic chemicals was in it because they didn't have near the chemicals we do today. What is considered "organic" now didn't exist then. Now you spend so much time and effort trying to find the cleanest, highest quality foods you can to nourish you and your family's bodies and you still have no idea where it comes from. It's not hard to notice the illnesses we face today vs then. Which is what brought us here. We want a way we could give people food grown by what God has put on this Earth rather than what man has tinkered with. We want to know that our food is going directly to people like you who deserve to pay for clean, natural and whole foods without the organic prices. Here at Smith Family Farms we believe in keeping the old way, God's way.
